Once playing the piano, there are a variety of things we usually tend to ignore. In this series of short articles, we’ll be looking at some of them and examining exactly how they impact the way we play.
As the above title suggests, this beginning article will give full attention to sitting down at the piano.
Naturally, when we sit at the piano we need to feel comfortable. Position is all important. stereo receiver repair
Initially of all, best places to sit down. This is fairly evident when playing a keyboard with 88 or seventy six keys. You just take a seat in the middle in front of Middle C. It might be less obvious, however, when playing a key pad with 61 keys or fewer. But whatever computer keyboard you play, you should be seated opposite the C note nearest the centre.
The best being seated position is about 50 percent way back on your stool or bench. You should be able to rest both feet toned on the floor and also move forwards and backwards and from part to side whilst keeping your equilibrium.
Your level at the piano will be determined by your piano stool and your own personal preferences. The most effective height, however, is the one that allows for a comfortable holding position from elbow handy so you can move your wrists in any course and can support your fingers.
Specifically if you are an adult, including person who is returning to participating in the piano after even a short layoff, the fingers will be rigid. If you try pushing them to move too rapidly, you may affect important muscles, as well as grab bad patterns. This is why really essential to adopt a posture that permits you to relax. As you float your hands over the keys, you must feel as if this can be the most natural thing in the world to do (though this will take time).
You may find it helpful to perform some loosening up exercises. Pertaining to example, let your forearms rest by your edges and gently raise and lower your shoulders several times.
Lean your mind forward, then gently move it round to the right, to the rear, then to the departed, time for the front and finally lifting it to the starting position. Do it again the exercise in the opposite direction, rest for a moment and do the same exercise several more times.
With your arms still in your attributes, shake them, with your hands and fingers. As they come unwind naturally, increase them in order that they hover over the keyboard. Keep the hands and fingers cupped as they hang loosely ready.
Now, before you start playing, just ‘mess around’ on the keys a little, to familiarise yourself with how they feel and where they are. You might try participating in a simple tune, perhaps in several key signatures, so that you commence to ‘hear’ the keyboard before starting trying to make sense of it. A high level00 beginner, playing a tune might be difficult, especially in several keys to normally the one you have discovered to experience. But any melody can do so don’t get worried relating to this too much.
